Re-opening of BT28 Schermshöhe – Riegelstein district road

The widening of the section of the BT28 district road from Schermshöhe to Riegelstein is the first construction phase of the largest civil engineering project currently underway in the Bayreuth district. Since 27 June, the Rädlinger construction firm has rebuilt the junction area in Schermshöher so that it is clearer and safer for traffic to use. The road to Riegelstein was also widened to 6.5 metres. Until now, cars travelling on the BT29 district road from Ittling had right of way. This has been changed to improve clarity and traffic safety: now, following the end of the widening work, traffic coming from the Hormersdorf exit of the A9 motorway has right of way. The BT28 district road is generally considered to be an important motorway diversion.
