Pre-cut of Darmsheim bypass on schedule

In the middle of March, Johannes Schmalzl, Stuttgart’s District President, visited the construction site for the Darnsheim northern bypass. He was satisfied with the progress of the earth-moving work by the construction company Rädlinger: “The pre-cut is on track.” Part of the bypass that is to be completed by 2018 is a 460 metre tunnel. Before the actual tunnel construction can be started in spring 2015, various types of preliminary work have to be performed. Rädlinger will shift around 100,000 cubic metres of earth by the middle of May. Approximately 65,000 cubic metres of excavated earth have already been removed, investigated, separated and stored on the site of a quarry or taken to a landfill site, as appropriate.
