Open day at the Rädlinger Vocational Training Center

On 16th May 2009 there took place for the first time an open day at the Schwandorf Vocational Training Center. Department manager Rupert Schichtl was pleased that, as well as the invited company representatives and the employees of the agency for work, many interested visitors from the general population also found their way to the BBZ. In particular schoolchildren and their parents, as well as next of kin of employees and trainees, made use of the open day in order to find out about the diverse educational opportunities offered by the BBZ.

Commissioned by companies, the Schwandorf Vocational Training Center holds training sessions for the extension and further development of vocational training. Currently, approximately 150 apprentices are provided with theoretical and practical instruction in the metal and electrical sectors, as well as welding and mechatronics. In their inspection tour through the electrical and metal works, visitors could obtain first impressions of the machining, welding or milling sectors. The training managers provided information about the respective training contents and were available to answer any questions. An exhibition of finished items of the trainees found special resonance with the visitors.

The BBZ is furthermore a certified support agency providing advanced training measures according to AZWV (Advanced Training Acknowledgement and Certification Ordinance) and offers retraining and advanced-training measures, such as for example CNC and CAD courses. The training offered in the Schwandorf Vocational Training Center (BBZ) already has a long tradition. The beginning was in a training center for apprentices in the Maxhuette iron and steelworks set up in 1938. Since the year 2006, the BBZ has belonged to the Rädlinger company group.
