Digging the first turf for Aschenau flood protection

The digging of the first turf for the long-planned flood protection project in Aschenau took place on 21 May 2010. The first construction phase should significantly improve the flood situation. Even though it will not yet provide protection against a one hundred year flood.
Josef Rädlinger Bauunternehmen GmbH was awarded the contract for the civil engineering work. From March to December 2010, among other things, 86,000 cubic metres of soil will be moved.
