Original equipment manufacturer for new Kubota wheeled loaders

In the middle of 2012, Kubota, the German market leader for compact and zero tail swing excavators, began looking for a strong partner for the equipment for the planned new wheeled loader models. As a reputable manufacturer with many years of experience in the development and manufacture of attachments, Rädlinger Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH perfectly fit into the construction machinery manufacturer’s concept.

As in the excavator segment, a high-quality and high-performance package was to be put together for the market launch of the new wheeled loaders R065 and R085. The basis for this was established with advanced technology, powerful and environmentally friendly motors and consideration of the user requirements in terms of reliability, safety and suitability for use in the development of the Kubota wheeled loaders. Construction machines only achieve their full potential in combination with attachments that are perfectly tailored to practical use and the supporting machine. Therefore, Kubota Baumaschinen GmbH and Rädlinger Maschinenbau worked on the development of optimum shovel shapes together. Knowledge of the requirements on the construction site and manufacturing expertise converged from both parties.

Versions of a standard loading shovel and a 4 in 1 folding shovel were developed that form a perfect unit with the new wheeled loader models. These two types of shovel were chosen as an original equipment option, as they optimally represent the wide range of applications of the wheeled loaders with a 4.4 tonne or 4.8 tonne operating weight, from gardening, landscaping and construction to road construction and civil engineering, to handling materials. The standard loading shovel can be used for loading medium bulk materials, such as ballast, soil, gravel, stone chippings or sand. The 4 in 1 folding shovel combines the functions of a number of attachments and is suitable for loading, grading and grabbing materials and can also be opened to empty them. In combination with the wheeled loader R065, the shovels are available with the cutting widths 1750 mm and 1890 mm. For the R085, the cutting widths are 1820 mm and 1890 mm. Depending on the area of application, the attachments should also be ordered from Rädlinger with a reversible screw-on blade or with teeth.

The large order for equipment for Kubota wheeled loaders has meant large lots for Rädlinger Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH since the beginning of the year, which have to be managed in addition to the on-going production for the high volume of orders in the winter and spring. “Through optimum workflow planning for series production, it has been possible to create sufficient capacity to be able produce the products cheaply and to a high-quality and to deliver them on time,” explains Project Manager Michael Wittmann. He was very satisfied with the good cooperation between the two companies, which was fair and professional at all times and includes, in addition to the manufacture of shovels, their delivery with wear and spare parts. There was positive feedback on the shovels from the test day of the construction machinery dealers at Kubota’s plant in Zweibrücken, the final trial for the market launch.
