Commitment to the region: a new site for civil engineering department

In 2002, the Rädlinger group from Cham took over the Vilshofen branch of the insolvent Philipp Holzmann AG with about 100 employees and made it into Josef Rädlinger Ingenieurbau GmbH. Since then, the volume of orders generated by the site has continuously increased and, consequently, so has the number of industrial workers and employees. And so Rädlinger Ingenieurbau, with around 260 employees, now has more than twice as many people as 12 years ago, and the trend is continuing upwards.

A number of years ago, the office building on Krankenhausstrasse in Vilshofen reached the limit of its capacity, and staff had to make do with offices in temporary structures. In 2011, Josef Rädlinger Ingenieurbau GmbH's directors, Josef Rädlinger and Helmut Schmöller, along with the commercial branch manager Alois Bumberger therefore commenced a Vilshofen-wide search for a suitable property or a suitable site to house the company. The project, however, was not successful. Only when they extended the search to the region around Vilshofen did they strike it lucky. In Rathsmannsdorf, part of the borough of Windorf, suitable areas for an industrial park were found, which Rädlinger is now developing and marketing as an investor. Two of the ten plots, however, are reserved for Rädlinger Ingenieurbau's new site. At about 65,000 m², the two plots have enough space for a large office building, parking, and above all green areas on the site. In the medium term the firm's warehouse and workshop, which are currently housed in nearby Aunkirchen, will move onto the site. Thanks to the geographical proximity, many corporate processes have been simplified.

"We are pleased to have found a place which meets the demands of a modern and attractive workplace, with a pleasant atmosphere in which it is possible to work productively. Moving Rädlinger Ingenieurbau to a more out-of-the-way location was never an option for us. At the end of the day, we want to preserve jobs and keep our staff. We are convinced of the potential of the region as a business location and always find new, qualified and highly motivated employees and trainees around here," explained company director Helmut Schmöller about the roots of the Rädlinger group in the region. The commercial branch manager Alois Bumberger also felt that the investment of approx. 15 million euros in a new site was a significant sign of the commitment of the parent company to the region, but also to the civil engineering arm of the company: "The establishment of a new branch makes us future-ready and capable of competing."

A three-storey building is planned, with around 100 work stations, a training room, several meeting rooms and a gym. An open projection, formed of the roof overhang and ledges on both sides, marks the overall impression of the building to the front. Large windows on the south side and many narrower windows on the north side ensure brightness in the rooms.

As for the marketing of other commercial plots, the investor is confident of being able to meet the most diverse of requirements, thanks to a wide range of plot sizes ranging from 4,000 m2 to 60,000 m2. Moreover, the site is flood-proof and has excellent transport links, thanks mainly to its location right at the A3 Aicha v. Wald junction. Prospective tenants opting for the 17-acre Rathsmannsdorf business park can begin developing their plot without further preparatory work being needed, and also get the benefit of a site which has been fully readied and designed with feng shui and geomancy in mind. An appealing atmosphere is also created by the surrounding green and forested areas that have been revaluated as compensating areas.
